Art, Nature, & Community

Once a year the community gathers under the redwood trees to celebrate art and the beauty that surrounds us.

Strolling through Old Mill Park among old growth redwoods we see art forms and visions we have never seen before. Our eyes and ears open to new art and ideas at every turn of the Festival - from the story tellers and puppeteers, to the main stage acts, to face painting, to the fine arts and crafts themselves.

Although the art comes from near and far, the Mill Valley Fall Arts Festival offers a warm, local, non-commercial experience and welcomes all ages and people.

Fiesta Arts Fair is an annual, art-focused fundraising event that provides general operating support for Southwest School of Art; the only independent college of art in Texas.  What began as a small art fair in 1973, has since grown into one of the highlights of the Fiesta San Antonio®, with an annual attendance of approximately 12,000 people.  The 2-day event takes place early in the Fiesta San Antonio season on the campus of Southwest School of Art and generates funds for the School through ticket sales and sponsorships.  Fiesta Arts Fair showcases the contemporary art of more than 100 artists from across the United States and features works in a variety of media, including metal, ceramics, glass, painting, photography, textures and jewelry.

In addition to art, Fiesta Arts Fair patrons have access to a wide variety of foods, ranging from traditional favorites like gorditas and roasted corn, to flavorful concoctions like chocolate covered bacon and fried Oreos®.  The event also features live music by local and regional performers.

Over the years, Fiesta Arts Fair has become known throughout San Antonio as one of the most family friendly Fiesta San Antonio® events of the year.  One of its most popular attractions is the Young Artists Garden which provides a fun, festive opportunity for budding artists to learn, explore and express their creativity.
